A few months shy of turning 30 and after spending the past ten years of my life between Britain, Canada and the U.S. nurturing alongside my graduate studies an irrepressible infatuation with American film culture, I recently returned to France to work as a copy editor in Paris. So after a decade of woefully neglecting my own country and culture and perhaps as a strategy to ease the uneasy transition “home”, I resolved to rediscover Paris through the lens of its pioneering cinematic history and reacquaint myself with France’s film culture in hindsight of my expatriate experience of North American cinema. Now, where and with what does one even begin… ? I suppose by introducing myself : Isabelle, enchantée.
